Use the Plex account the Admin shared the Nerd Box with.

  1. A Plex window opens (on iPhone it may be a new tab).
  2. Sign in to Plex the way you always do: email, Google or Apple.
  3. Tap Allow. You're in for 30 days on this device.
Having trouble signing in?
  • Nothing happens when I tap the button. Your browser blocked the pop-up. Allow pop-ups for this site, or tap again and Plex will open in this tab instead.
  • "This Plex account doesn't have access." Make sure you accepted the Admin's Plex invite (step 3 of "Get access"), and that you're signing in with that same Plex account. It's easy to have two Plex accounts without realizing it, for example one made with Google and one with email.
  • Forgot your Plex password? Reset it at plex.tv, then come back and try again.
  • Still stuck? Message the Admin and say what you see.

Get access in 5 easy steps

No tech skills needed, and it's completely free. Takes about 10 minutes.

  1. Create a free Plex account

    Plex is the free app you'll watch with. Tap the button below and choose Sign Up. Use your email, or "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Apple."

    Already have Plex? Skip to step 2. If Plex offers Plex Pass or a free trial, you can skip it. You don't need to pay for anything.

  2. Send the Admin your Plex email

    Send the Admin the email address you used for your Plex account. That's all that's needed to add you.

    Signed up with Google or Apple? Send the email address of that Google or Apple account.

  3. Accept the invite

    You'll get an email from Plex saying you've been invited to the Nerd Box. Open it and tap Accept Invite.

    Don't see it? Check Spam or Promotions. You can also sign in at app.plex.tv, where pending invites show up at the top.

  4. Get the Plex app

    Install the free Plex app wherever you want to watch:

    • TV or streaming stick: Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV and most smart TVs. Search "Plex" in the app store.
    • Phone or tablet: App Store or Google Play.
    • Computer: just go to app.plex.tv.

    Signing in on a TV? It shows a short code. On your phone, go to plex.tv/link, sign in, and type the code.

  5. Come back here and sign in

    Tap Sign in with Plex on this page. From here you can see what's new, request any movie or show, and follow it until it's ready. You'll get an email when it is.
